Granite State Glass recommends a free, no pressure on-site consultation at the outset of your enclosure project. During that visit we can share product samples, survey the existing conditions, listen to your project goals and generate an proposal within 24-72 hours after your visit. Upon acceptance of your proposal the lead time to installation is typically 5-8 weeks dependent upon the product.

Frameless shower enclosures typically use “heavy” glass (3/8” or ½”) with minimal hardware for a modern, unobstructed look. Semi-frameless uses a thinner glass (1/4”) with partial metal framing that offers a balance between frameless and framed.

Frameless shower enclosures are not 100% watertight. By design there may be gaps along the perimeter of the glass panels from 1/8” to 3/16”. There are various vinyl seals that can be applied to minimize the gaps and forethought in placement of shower and spray heads can also play a role in minimizing leaks. If leaks are a major concern for your shower GSG can make semi-frameless or framed recommendations for your shower.

28” is the most common width however doors can range from 22” to 38” wide.

Your hinged door will swing open to 90 degrees in either direction. If you prefer the door to swing in only one direction GSG can adjust the hinges accordingly.

Standard clear glass isn't actually totally clear as you might notice a slight green tint to the glass or green edges. Low iron glass, on the other hand, is completely clear. This is achieved by reducing the amount of iron in the molten glass formula, providing optimal, unobstructed views. There are protective coatings available that permanently protect the glass from the damaging effects of hard water, heat, humidity, soap residue and cleaning agents. The names of the protective coatings vary by manufacturer however “ShowerGuard”, “C10” and “Diamond Fusion” are some of the more popular coatings. While these coatings do help keep your glass clean, occasional cleaning with gentle household cleaners is recommended.
